Biomechanics Associate
Guidance Engineering is hiring Associate and Senior level Biomechanical Engineers to manage consulting projects and conduct biomechanical engineering research.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate material review, analyses, testing, and appropriate personnel to meet project deadlines
Review technical and non-technical documents for critical facts
Determine injury mechanisms, forces on the body, body motions, and injury potential during recreational activities and accidents by performing reviews of the scientific literature, statistical analyses of injury databases, engineering calculations, computer simulations, and testing
Publish peer-reviewed, technical journal articles and present findings at technical conferences
Write reports and prepare presentations to communicate findings to non-technical audiences
Basic Qualifications
Ph.D. in Bioengineering, Biomechanics, Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering (or similar field)
Strong knowledge of mechanics, dynamics, and solid mechanics (strength of materials)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Capable of working independently (self-motivated) and as part of a team
At least 2 years of experience conducting technical analyses
Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience using sensors, data acquisition systems, and signal processing
MATLAB, R, MADYMO
Participation in outdoor recreation activities (snow sports, watersports, bicycling, climbing, etc.) is a plus
Additional Requirements
Must be available to travel and willing to work extended hours as needed
